Great upgrade, and hopefully slightly less dorky, than a hip/fanny pack. Comfortable to wear as a sling, both with the pack in the back or front, and enough storage for daily needs; I can use this instead of a day pack for most light travels or even hikes. Typical Bellroy quality, who also have some good environmental standards re: leather sourcing and other materials used. One con, which many other reviews point out, is the small opening to the main compartment. But a huge deal, but it's an improvement point for the next iteration. Also, I wouldn't mind just a bit more organization (another divider or something) in that main pocket, but then it expands enough to put in a decent sized water bottle so I can't complain too much. This is a high quality sling that is capable of carrying many items. I ordered this sling with the intention of using it to carry some essential items with me on my upcoming plane flight. The bag will hold pretty much everything that I want to be able to keep close to me - keys, wallet, vape, usb cables, Airpods, cell phone, Nintendo Switch, a few loose games, 20000 mah battery bank and a couple other small items. The only negative that I can say about the sling is that I wish that it had multiple compartments within it. Organization is a bit of a pain if you are trying to carry as much with you as I am.Overall, the sling is well built and using top notch materials. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for an everyday carry bag.I’ve looked around at several sling packs like this. I tried a cheapo one from Target which was pretty good, but just not big enough. I tried some like Patagonia slings, and the Nomatic 3L sling, which was too rigid. This one for the bill. I love that it expands automatically if you need more room. It looks great, love the feel of the canvas type material. Only gripe is I wish where the straps meet the bag, they had swivels so the straps don’t get turned around on you. Also, the magnetic snap on the straps should be on the other side IMO. Holds a ton, but does let look bulky. I keep my big wallet that holds my passport, a small anker battery charger, couple cables, keys, pen, mask, granola bar, small soap sheets, check book, wall charger, multi tool, mints, spork, Kleenex, and more. Still had room. When I first received my sling, I was very surprised by just how small the thing was. There are only 3 zippered compartments to hold your stuff in: an easy access front pouch, the back main pouch with a key ring which is slightly roomier than the front pouch, and a softer fabric-lined pouch within the back pouch for glasses/smaller items. The key ring in the back pouch is relatively easy to access although not as good quality as the rest of the bag. It feels plastic-y and flimsy and is very easy to remove my keyring from. Still gets the job done, I guess. Aside from this small quip, the bag is solid overall. I love how it naturally decompresses when you wear it, creating a lighter footprint and increasing its overall comfort to use. The bag's strap is of especially high quality which it's material reminds me of a kind of thinner airplane seatbelt.Overall great bag for daily items albeit a little on the expensive side. This is my second Bellroy product, and again, I am very satisfied. The size is perfect and the zippers seem pretty sturdy.I was tired of carrying things in my pocket. It would get extremely uncomfortable moving around with the items in my pocket. I thought about the sling backpack for a long time. The minimalism of the Bellroy is perfect. I was, at first, very hesitant with the Bellroy. However, considering the great quality and experience I've had with my first Bellroy product (backpack), I decided to go for the sling. It's made of recycled material which is great. I'm just curious how Bellroy manages to certify/justify the integrity of the product, especially since it's recycled. To my knowledge, the properties of recycled material is harder to control because it's so wide spec. Also, the price should be much lower considering it's recycled and not prime materials.Regardless, it's a great purchase and looking forward to other Bellroy products.Love the sling. It's actually bigger than I expected. This'll work perfectly. Easy to access compartments, nice soft lined pocket for my phone. I can definitely fit my Switch and a few other necessary items in this for quick trips around.I noticed as soon as I unpacked this that it was a return. No tags, and it wasn't super clean like new products are. All the zippers were open. I wish Amazon checked things over better before sending them as "new" products.I really wanted to like this sling, but I wasn't crazy about how stiff the fabric was. Like other reviewers have noted, I also thought the zipper access wasn't good. The whole point of me wearing a sling or belt bag is for easy access to my stuff! So I had to return it.I bought this bag for a weekend trip and I loved it! The outside material of the bag feels very premium and so is the inside lining. I also like how the bag has a secret pouch for sunglasses, it was a nice bonus that helped me pack lighter! I also love that the bag is made out of recycled plastic, so it’s a win for you and the planet!Over many years, I have used Tumi, Coach and Timbuk2 bags as Everyday carries. But I have never been comfortable about two things. Firstly, only a minority of men carried ‘Man Bags’ in the UK until more recently. Secondly, most Man Bags are square shaped so everything gets buried in the bottom of the bag and it is hard to find the thing you need.I often use my Timbuk2 Mission Sling when I have quite a lot to carry, but I wanted something a little smaller and more comfortable to wear.I realised shallow bags are more practical so I decided to get a sling bag with a slimmer strap. I was concerned that the Bellroy might not have enough compartments, but I reminded myself that when there are too many compartments I can never find anything. The sling is unisex and very comfortable to wear. I keep my wallet and phone in the front pocket and any small thing I might need in a hurry. Everything else goes in the main compartment. It seems ideal for my use and I don’t think I will be looking for anything else for a while. This is the first review I've written on any product or service and I am happy to say that my experience not just with the Bellroy sling bag, but with the company as a whole has been wonderful. I initially ordered the sling in Neon Cabernet, however, when I received the item there was a defect with the quality of the leather zipper pulls. I was left disappointed, but soon after Bellroy's customer service reached out to me and quickly rectified this by sending me a replacement bag. I can say that this replacement bag has already provided me with proof of Bellroy's quality in both product and service. As far as the bag goes, I hope that Bellroy listens to their community on user feedback as they have in the past by expanding the width of the opening for better ease of access of items in the main compartment. I appreciate Bellroy's craftsmanship and use of leather as part of their identity, but would abstain from using them on zipper pulls as leather does not age well in this regard due to constant push and pull, especially the smaller front pocket that allows for stowing the zipper away. The ability to hide the zipper is aesthetically clean, but it means digging for the zipper pull can be harder than the main compartment and creates more extraneous pulling on the leather. On a last note, I would ask that in a possible future iteration of this sling bag, the automatic compression system be tweaked to allow the choice of compression. Maybe a lock system with the loops/strap to allow/prevent compression. During compression with many items in bag, it is very difficult to get into the bag and goes against ease of access. With much less inside, compression works seamlessly. All together, I would say this product is great for everyday carry for those not looking for too much organization and with plenty of room for a day out in the city backed by even better customer service that goes beyond their product. This has become the most used bag for my everyday carry.Well-thought compartments and great materials to the touch but also feels sturdy and strong. YKK zipper which means this is built to last.My only minor complaint is that I would prefer a wider opening for the main compartment. That being said, it expands quite a bit so it allows you to carry a lot of stuff!Great bag overall.Bought this bag after seeing it on offer. I’ve looked at the Bellroy sling for quite some time and saw the bag on an offer and I liked the colour so to the plunge and glad that I did. Now I want it in another colourGreat bag, very useful size for holiday travels, fits phone, wallet, small water bottle, keys, papers etc. Perfect for airports.I wouldn’t want a smaller size for travelling.Durable and lightweight.
